Hi, I own an R(97)discovery V8i and am having trouble with a very annoying rattle. It's definately not the shocks and bushes, but seems to be the rear seat belt retainers that attach the floor pan to the chasis. I have renewed these including the rubbers, however the pins that go through the eye bolts don't seem to have any nylon bushes to help reduce rattle/play. I may have tightened them down too much! The vehicle is as smooth as you like on the motorway, but get on a B road and the smallest of bumps make this rattle start. Short of drilling the bracket rivets out and putting high tensile bolts through, I am now at a loss as to what to try next. Any help with this has got to be worth a pint!! |
